  • What is the weather like in Buenos Aires in October?
    October and November are spring in Buenos Aires and the weather is usually warm and pleasant. Average temperatures range from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Rainfall is minimal, making it an ideal time to enjoy outdoor activities and get around the city comfortably.
  • What should I wear to the wedding?
    We will be wearing tuxedos and most of the guests will be dressed in formal clothing. If you'd like an opportunity to wear something a little fancy, the venue Palacio Paz is the place to do it, as a historic venue that is also home to Argentina's military officer club. If you don't want to dress this formal, semi-formal is okay too.
  • Where should I stay in Buenos Aires?
    From 10/23 - 10/25 we recommend staying in Palermo. Many of us are staying in the Duque Boutique Hotel but it's fully booked. An aternate option is Krista Boutique Hotel and there are many affordable Airbnbs and other hotel options close by. Please ask us if you have questions about a particular hotel or location. For 10/25 to 10/27 we recommend staying closer to the venue (Palacio Paz) which is located in the Retiro neighborhood. Here are some options: ​​ Palacio Paz Hotel: this is a minimal boutique hotel conveniently located right at the venue. Cost for two nights with breakfast included is about $220 on Booking.com. Casa Lucia: located a 7 minute walk from the venue. This is the more upscale option and we will be staying here from 10/25 to 10/27, mostly for the vibes and photos. ​If you are interested in staying here please search for the hotel on your phone. Right now, mobile-only pricing is $488 for 10/25 to 10/27 whereas the cost on a desktop is $700+. If you have Marriott or Hilton points, there are a few options nearby: Buenos Aires Marriott - 15 minute walk to the venue. ​ Double Tree by Hilton Buenos Aires: 8 minute walk to the venue. ​ If you prefer to continue staying in Palermo or a different neighborhood from 10/25 to 10/27, you can take a taxi to the wedding venue (usually 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the location). Airbnb is also an option and there are many available in good locations at affordable prices.
  • What currency is used in Buenos Aires?
    The official currency is the Argentine peso. However, US dollars and euros are accepted in many tourist places. Credit cards are also widely accepted, although it is useful to carry some cash for smaller purchases.
  • What is the food like in Buenos Aires?
    Buenos Aires is famous for its quality meats, especially asados ​​and parrilladas. You can also enjoy empanadas, Argentine-style pizzas and pastas, a legacy of Italian immigration. Don't forget to try dulce de leche (Suggested brands: Vacalín and Havanna) and medialunas (CORCHIO Resto recommended by the New York Times). Also, traditional taverns are an emblem of the city. Places like La Cátedra Restaurant, El Obrero, El Puentecito, Los Galgos, El Globo, Miramar, Bodegón Devoto, Motin del Bajo, Bodegón Parque, Bodegón Nuñez. Take a look at some of the classic dishes from Buenos Aires. Cafes in Buenos Aires are very popular.   • How much do you tip in Argentina?
    In restaurants and cafes, it is customary to leave between 10% and 15% of the total bill as a tip. For taxis, it is not obligatory, but fares are usually rounded up.
  • Is it safe in Buenos Aires?
    From personal experience, Buenos Aires feels very safe. We plan to spend most of our time in two of the nicest and safest neighborhoods in the city: Palermo and Recoleta. We don't expect anyone to venture off into the outskirts of the city. Exercise general caution when going about the city in the same way you would in the United States.   • Any tips for flying into Buenos Aires?
    Yes! There are a number of routes you can take to get to Buenos Aires. Here are the ones we've found that seem the most convenient for US travelers: 1) COPA Airlines San Francisco -> Panama City -> Buenos Aires. 2) Delta Airlines direct New York (JFK) -> Buenos Aires. 3) United Airlines direct Houston (IAH) -> Buenos Aires. 4) Delta Airlines direct Atlanta -> Buenos Aires. 5) LATAM flights through Santiago, such as Los Angeles -> Santiago -> Buenos Aires OR Miami -> Santiago -> Buenos Aires.
  • Is there a registry? What about gifts?
    There is definitely NO registry and we do not want any gifts. Experiencing Argentina with you all is the best gift you could possibly give us.
